Materials

What to choose?! Choosing the right material is certainly one of the most difficult decisions when selecting a ring. To make it a bit easier for you, we’ve put together some facts for you.

Most couples like solid and highly durable rings. The jewelry should be robust and long-lasting – just like the marriage itself.

Our most popular materials and alloys

Choosing the right material is one of the most important decisions when buying an engagement ring, wedding ring, or another piece of jewelry.

To make this choice easier, we present all the materials we offer. We’ll start with our most popular materials:

At Designer Diamonds, we have a vast selection of materials: yellow gold, white gold, rose gold, platinum, silver, or carbon.

Yellow Gold:
14Kt (Karat) or 18kt are excellent choices to seal the bond for life. These precious metals do not leave any unsightly discolorations on the skin and have high precision in processing. Even the ring size can be adjusted later if necessary. For our engagement rings, we almost always use 750/- (18Kt) gold, as it is the highest quality material.

White Gold:
Unlike silver, white gold does not tarnish and appears somewhat more subtle than yellow gold or rose gold. White gold is an alloy made by combining pure gold with white metals like palladium or nickel (wherby in Europe, nickel is not used anymore for white gold alloys). The resulting alloy has a silvery-white color and is frequently used for jewelry making. White gold is also more durable and tarnish-resistant than pure gold.

Rose Gold:
Rose gold is a type of gold alloy made by combining pure gold with copper and sometimes also with small amounts of silver. The copper gives the alloy a pink or rose-colored hue and is often used in jewelry making. It is also durable and tarnish-resistant. It is becoming increasingly popular as an alternative to traditional metals.

At Designer Diamonds, we have a vast selection of materials: yellow gold, white gold, rose gold, platinum, silver, or carbon.

Platinum:
Platinum is the most popular and durable material of choice here and is most commonly used. The precious metal has a very high specific weight. It is perfectly suited for daily use. Platinum 950 is very skin-friendly and hypoallergenic.

At Designer Diamonds, we have a vast selection of materials: yellow gold, white gold, rose gold, platinum, silver, or carbon.

Silver:

Silver is a soft, white, shiny metal that reflects light more than any other metal. A popular form of silver is sterling silver. It consists of an alloy of 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper, along with silver platings, where a thin layer of silver is applied to a base metal. Silver jewelry is a more cost-effective alternative to gold and platinum. It is characterized by its white color and good luster.

At Designer Diamonds, we have a vast selection of materials: yellow gold, white gold, rose gold, platinum, silver, or carbon.

Carbon:

Carbon is made from carbon fibers which are encased in a matrix of synthetic resin. This material is very light weight and amazing wearing comfort. The jet black color is particularly easy to care for and are absolutely hypoallergenic and scratch resistant.

At Designer Diamonds, we have a selection of special materials such as: stainless steel, titanium, tantalum, or meteorite rock.
