1. The Kahnfahrt
The Augsburger Kahnfahrt can be found at Riedlerstraße 11, 86152 Augsburg. A beautiful restaurant with boat rental as well as a breathtaking view directly at the water. The family business offers Swabian dishes in the beer garden in the summer and fondue in the winter. So you can eat delicious food and take a little boat tour afterwards. On the water of the city moat in the historic Jakober Vorstadt. Perfect for romantic moments! And above all: perfect for a marriage proposal.
2. The Perlachturm
The Perlachturm in the old town is the most beautiful place to enjoy the sunset. You have to climb several stairs and the tower is 70 meters high. 261 to be exact. But it is worth it! The monument is a popular viewpoint and perfect for a proposal. The entrance fee is only 2€ and is definitely worth the panoramic view.
Our tip: Every day at 11 and 17 o’clock the chimes of the Perlachturm ring out. The sound is beautiful, but can get very loud if you stand directly under the 35 bells. So be sure to visit the tower before or after the glockenspiel. Then almost nothing can go wrong for the proposal in Augsburg!
3. The Rathaus
Right next to the Perlachturm you will find the Augsburger Rathaus. If you stand at Elias-Holl-Platz at sunset, you can see the golden hall shining in the windows of the city hall. The square is located behind the town hall. Here it is also usually quieter than on the town hall square on the other side. Especially in the evening you can experience romantic moments here. A great option for a proposal!
4. Proposal in Augsburg at the Dom
The Dom in the Frauentorstraße is also a nice place for a marriage proposal. Especially in the park around the cathedral! The beautiful green area offers a great scenery. Also the Hofgarten is not far away. On a short walk you will surely find the right moment to ask THE question.
5. The Staatstheater
The Staatstheater in Augsburg is a popular monument. A very special atmosphere is created under the arches in the entrance area. You could also round off the evening after a performance with a marriage proposal. Unfortunately, the theater is currently under renovation (status 2020). According to this it will take a while until you can see the theater in its full splendor again.
